After 7 years, I have chosen to discontinue Headway101 and HeadwayShop. It was a difficult decision to make, because I understand thousands still regard Headway101 as the go-to resource for learning Headway Themes.
However, given the recent troubles surrounding Headway, I decided it was time to make my exit. I can no longer, in good conscience, support the company or its product.
Below, I've recapped my personal experience with Headway Themes in a more visual format than my blog posts. This is an expression of my personal experience, and not intended as a personal attack or an attempt at defamation. These opinions may differ from other former employees', customers, or affiliates.

Grant Griffiths tells me to checkout his son's flagship product, Headway Themes. It's version 1.0.x, and I immediately take a liking to it. I begin a site called Headway Hacks (now defunct) to document my learning.
Headway Themes hires me as their first ever support forum moderator. My job is to answer questions in the forum, and direct people to the proper channels. I also obsessively scour the web for mentions of Headway Themes.
After a mental health crisis, I quit my job at Headway Themes and sell off my assets (HeadwayHub, Headway Gallery, a variety of Headway related domains) to Headway Themes LLC for approximately $800.
Against my wishes, my outline for a guidebook is also distributed among employees. The outline having been simply shared via google docs, and not part of the original transaction.
Having resigned from college, I decide to return to Headway Themes in order to make a living. I create HeadwayExpert.com as a way to market myself.
I create an 11,000 word guide to Headway Themes 3.0.x and distribute it for free whenever possible, including on the official support forums. Headway enacts a new forum rule against "solicitation," at which point I am asked to not offer the guide directly to users anymore.

Headway Themes holds a webinar to introduce 4.0's features. They partner with "Local Business Rockstar" for unknown reasons. The webinar dissolves into a conversation about whether or not lifetime licensing will continue. Afterwards, attendees receive solicitation emails from E-Rock.
I signup as a speaker for WordCamp Raleigh in order to lead a session on setting up a website using Headway Themes. Few people attend. I come to the realization halfway through the talk that Headway isn't suitable for beginners. I feel disheartened.
After several years, I make the decision to discontinue using and teaching Headway Themes.
